Easy Like Saturday Morning

A simple Saturday morning outfit.  It is still very hot and humid today, but there is supposed to be rain this afternoon that will break the streak.  Please God, because I need fall weather.

I've decided that I need to beware of most pinks, but that peaches do my skin tone a lot of favors (this top is quite peach, even though it looks more pink in the photos)

I hadn't thought to pair this skirt and top together before today; I like it when things work out like that!

The lemon slice earrings are from ModCloth.  I purchased them a few months ago with an account credit, but wore them for the first time today.  (Can I just say: what is up with the big round plastic earring backs that everyone uses now?  They are completely non-functional and I always have to find proper earring backs to replace them).

Outfit deets:
Top: Ann Taylor via ThredUp
Skirt: Lady Hazan via The Parader's Vintage during their close out sale last year
Earrings: Modcloth (appears to be out of stock now, but they have bananas and apples that are cute too!)
Necklace: Thrifted
Shoes: Dansko via ebay
Glasses: Zenni Optical

  1. You always look so cute! I tend to almost completely ignore my clothes and rarely even wear my earrings (although I like them). I go for walk/jogs (for which I wear what you would expect), to Walmart/grocery store (for which I comb my hair), and to church (for which I dress nicely). That's it. Given that that's all I do and with being unhappy with my size and shape, I just wear whatever is decent and covers me. The lack of budget for clothing unless an emergency also plays into it. But I like looking at what you put together! I dress vicariously through you. ;)

(And I hope we ALL have fall weather soon! It's icky!)

    1. Aw, thanks! A lot of it is just being intentional about getting dressed in the morning. I mean, really this is just a t shirt and skirt with a belt, probably something you have in your closet too! Personally, I feel a lot better about myself when my outfit is put together well, and tend to feel happier about myself when I do it consistently. I'm not always happy with my size and shape (particularly right now--this is actually one of my "fat" outfits) but dressing well helps me not to sabotage my efforts to slim down and tone up. The clothes we wear every day send a message about ourselves and feeling of worth to the world, and I find the positive feedback creates its own nice loop for me. Anyway. Thanks for your lovely comment!
