That 70s Card

More mojo (although I ended up ditching the template I was using) with a different color palette than I normally do. I think I like it!

Paper: Not Quite Navy, Summer Sun, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Ink: Old Olive
Stamps: Curvy Verses
Ribbon: Only Orange 1/4" grosgrain ribbon

Mojo 87 (late)

So we're back from our Russia travels and I'm getting caught up on Mojo cards. So here is my take on #87--after several different iterations. I still think it needs something, but it will have to do for now.

Paper: Chocolate chip, Bravo Burgundy, Bella Birds DSP
Ink: Basic Brown
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Accessories: Scallop punch, scallop circle punch, burgundy embroidery thread, white non-SU button from an old garment that was turned into rags, dimensionals

Anniversary Card for the folks

This is the anniversary card I made for my parents: (now that they've received it I can post the photos). I used the Mojo Monday 85 with modifications:

Ink: Basic Brown
Stamps: Curvy Verses, Congrats (SAB 2009), Puns from the Past
Accessories: Brown stitched grosgrain ribbon (non-SU from Pearl); ticket corner punch

Xenia Icon complete!

I know this isn't stamp-related, but after more than 6 months, the icon I've been slowly plugging away at is complete (except for the oiling, but it needs to cure for a few weeks first).

Clean and Simple #41

Clean and Simple Sketch #41:

Paper: So Saffron, Brilliant Blue, Sahara Sand
Ink: Brilliant Blue
Stamps: Puns from the Past
Ribbon: So Saffron 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (or it might be very vanilla--not sure)

I retook this picture about 10 times before getting a good shot--who knew the best lighting in the house was on the white tile in the bathroom??

Mojo 86

Here's my Monday mojo, a week late (we just got back from our monastery trip in northern California...just enough time to do laundry, get in a few mojo sketches and such and head off to Moscow on Tuesday!!)

Paper: Rose Red, Regal Rose, Raspberry Tart DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Flower in Silhouette, Warm Words
Accessories: Scallop border punch

Sweet Sunday 17 Sketch (SSSC17)

I found Karen Giron's website sometime last week with her Sweet Sunday sketch and decided to give it a go this week (just before our early flight to Platina!) So here is the result: (I think it is rather cute!)

Paper: Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Parisian Breeze DSP scrap, Whisper White, Baja Breeze (Top Note)
Ink: Basic Brown
Stamps: Botanical Blooms, Flower Fancy
Ribbon: 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (SU color, but not sure which one--Soft Sky, perhaps?)
Accessories: Ticket Punch, Snail Adhesive, Top Note Die

Have a great week!

Mojo 83

Since I just discovered the Mojo blog, I went back through some old templates for ideas and found #83, which I decided to give a go:

Paper: So Saffron, Always Artichoke, Bella Rose DSP, Bordering Blue, Whisper White and Rose Red
Ink: Old Olive
Stamps: Puns from the Past
Accessories: So Saffron 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, non-SU buttons (the white ones are from an old shirt of my husband's that I cut up several years ago; the green one was the extra from a sweater I got rid of not long ago)
Technique: Sponging with a cotton ball old olive on the whisper white image to tone it down a bit.

Cheers!

More mojo...anniversary card

Today's card is the one I made for our anniversary. I liked the love birds on the Candy Cane DSP and decided to build the card around it. The inside was the result of a lot of fiddling. I also made my parents' anniversary card, but as my mother will probably check here before the day, you'll just have to wait! All I can say is that Mojo Monday has been good to me this week.

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Real Red, Candy Lane DSP, very vanilla
Ink: Basic Brown, Real Red
Stamps: Define Your Life, Polka Dot Punches
Accessories: non-SU 5/8ths stitched grosgrain ribbon in red, Top Note Die in pink pirouette, ticket corner punch, dimensionals, slot punch, X-acto knife

Mojo Monday...on Wednesday

I just found this great blog called Mojo Monday (mojomonday.blogspot.com) that gives a new template (complete with requisite contest) every Monday. Since I discovered it on a Wednesday, alas, I will not win this week, but I thought I would try the challenge anyway. I'm feeling mojo-less lately and needed a boost. I'm thrilled with how this card came out! I got some new stamps yesterday and I participated in a DSP share in April (thanks, Tara!) and have been itching to use some of it. Oh, and when my parents were here last week, my mom and I went to check out a craft store on South Street and did some damage in the ribbon department. So I had the perfect storm of supplies!

Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, and DSP (Bella Birds and Candy Lane)
Ink: Basic Brown
Ribbon: non-Su brown and pink stitched ribbon
Stamps: Flowers in Silouette and Curvy Verses

The sketch (had to change it up a little to accomodate the curvy verse)

UPS

The UPS guy has been getting quite a bad rep in our neighborhood lately--lost deliveries, stolen items (because they were left on the front steps), poor tracking information, etc--and I was ready to join my voice to the chorus when I arrived home today to find a little yellow and brown sticky attached to my door. After months of never receiving a UPS delivery before 5:00 p.m., suddenly, he comes before 3:00!

So I call UPS right away to see if they can redeliver again today because the next three days are NOT good and then we are leaving Monday. UPS' call center says, of course, they can't redeliver (why do they offer it as an option, then???) and can't give me a delivery time window for tomorrow either. So I'm glumly considering my options as to what to cancel tomorrow so I can wait for these dumb boxes, one of which is my Stampin' Up box with some items for that special order that I'm supposed to deliver THURSDAY, when suddenly, the doorbell rings. UPS!!! The guy said he got the message and decided to make a special run just for me!! WOW!!! Needless to say, it made my week! Plus a little stamp therapy never hurt either. I'm looking forward to playing with my new toys! My husband says that while he is into gadgets of all kinds, and I claim not to be, my stamping stuff is crafty gadgets. You say tomato, I say tumatoh.

Tags for swap

While I got my first official order last week, I did a swap on etsy a week earlier for a leather teething strap for my son's crib (long story...) The seller agreed to make the strap for me in return for 130 thank you tags. I think they turned out pretty cute!
